Is there a difference between inspiration and copying? It seems like a silly question to ask, but when you really think about the two, they actually seem pretty similar.
When I was younger, it was almost a sin to do the same or similar thing as someone else. Everything seemed to be off limits. You couldn’t wear similar clothes, or shoes, or hair style. But why not? Because you’re taking something from someone that makes them “unique”? Well let me tell you, every single girl sitting at the lunch table with a different color of “Shox” gym shoes isn’t exactly unique. But did that really register in a 7th grader’s brain? Not really.
I think copying someone is the sincerest form of flattery. And what really flatters a man is that you think him worth flattering.
